As one of the firm’s paralegals, Jennifer provides legal support to attorneys in estate planning, trust, and asset protection matters. She meets with clients, handles document signings, and coordinates the activities needed to complete the set-up and funding of trusts. She brings nearly 20 years of paralegal experience to the Johnson McGinnis team.

Raised in Hendersonville, Jennifer stumbled into the legal field during college in Bowling Green. She answered an ad to be a nanny for an attorney’s children and was offered a job in her law office instead. Jennifer liked the work and enrolled in the paralegal program at Volunteer State Community College, working part-time at a Hendersonville law firm during her degree program. She then returned to Western Kentucky University where she earned a bachelor’s degree in social and behavioral sciences.

Before joining Johnson McGinnis, Jennifer worked as a paralegal for a firm specializing in bankruptcy law. When the firm changed ownership and added estate planning to its practice area, she provided legal support to the attorney working on those cases.

She joined Johnson McGinnis in early 2019. “My job is a good combination of things I’ve done with previous firms and things I have learned over the past three years with Johnson McGinnis that are specific to elder care law and planning,” says Jennifer. “I enjoy building relationships with clients and making sure that the financial side of their plan will work as designed.”

When she’s not assisting Johnson McGinnis clients, Jennifer enjoys music, reading, watching hockey and baseball, serving at church, and spending time with family and friends.
